Europe Trip
Traveling the world is a great experience that enriches the life of anyone daring to take the chance.
Many Americans are unwilling to venture overseas because of preconceived notions of danger or discomfort.
However the modern conveniences found at home are plentiful abroad as well.
For example, western Europe combines the charm of medieval times with all the conveniences of the modern world.
A city like Amsterdam Holland is a perfect case in point.
Its beautiful centuries old architecture sets the backdrop for a very modern and stylish city.
Romantic canals encircle the old city center with modern buildings and intriguing structures nearby.
From Amsterdam, a 10 hour bus ride to Berlin is affordable and available daily.
Berlin is a vast city compared to the rather confined size of Amsterdam.
The nice thing about both of these cities – and much of Europe in general – is the bountiful and reliable public transportation system.
You can really see a lot that these cities have to offer by learning to use their public transport.
You’ll navigate the city like a local, and it’s a fraction of the price of taxicabs.
Both cities are also very bicycle friendly. So renting a bicycle is a great option to see even more of the city up close.
You can even take a bicycle on the subway trains in both cities, known as the metro in Amsterdam and U-bahn in Berlin.
This is a fantastic way to explore a lot of territory quickly and intimately.
So one of the best tips when traveling abroad: take time to learn a bit about the public transportation system of the cities you plan to visit before your travels, and you’ll enrich your experiences several fold.
